The awards which honours and celebrates all the top performers in various fields including television,radio, music and sports ect. Saw the awards take place at the Sun Arena Times Square in, Pretoria and were hosted by Lawrence Maleka.
The star studded event started with a eye catching red carpet which saw a number of local celebrities displaying their fashion choices for the night. The talk of the night was actress and television presenter Ntando Duma, whose choice of attire grabbed headlines.
The awards show saw quite a number of performances from musicians which included the likes of Nomfundo Moh, Sjava, Tuks Senganga and many others.
The awards saw a number of categories highly contested with the nominee with the most public votes, winning the award. The nights highly contested categories were favourite radio personality which saw Ukhozi FM presenter Selbeyonce Mkhize taking home the award, beating the likes of Lerato Kganyago and Thando Thabethe among others.
The other highly contested categories were the favourite actor and actress which was won by Abdul Khoza of the wife and Sannah Mchunu of Gomora.
The night also saw Connie Ferguson scoop the award for the favourite personality while legendary actor, director and playwright John Kani, was awarded the Legend Award. The was also a couple of surprises when DJ Shimza won the award for the favourite DJ, beating crowd favourite Scorpion Kings and De Mthuda.
