Oscar Pistorius Is Set To Finally Get A Parole On His Case

Oscar Pistorius has arrived back in South Africa. It has been confirmed by the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) that Oscar Pistorius, the convicted murderer, has been transferred from Pretoria to Gqeberha jail in the Eastern Cape.

After serving half his 13-year sentence, Pistorius is eligible for parole. DCS spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said the move was part of this process.

Athlete Reeva Steenkamp is currently receiving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of his model girlfriend.

The Eastern Cape is home to Steenkamp's parents.

Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of second-degree murder. And he was arrested.

Since the victims are in Gqeberha, the victim-offender discussion must get underway before the transfer can be completed. It is a part of the rehabilitation process for criminals to participate in the victim-offender discourse in order to recognize the harm they have inflicted on their victims and society as a whole," Nxumalo said.
