Nonkanyiso Conco is a Mzansi Magic Presenter and a Real Housewives of Durban castmate. Her claim to fame initially was being tied with Jacob Zuma as his fiance. It was what had audience's hooked on her during the first season of the show, a chance to get a glimpse at him.
This wasn't how the second season went.
Their relationship allegedly fell apart and she tearfully told Sorisha Naidoo about the end during the premiere of season two of RHOD. However, once the whispering of a new lover were uttered, castmates and fans alike started to be entirely too curious about it.
Flowers were delivered, cara were driven yet no sign of who Petal could be. The secret had Annie in particular very frustrated (goodness knows why). It had become clear that LaConco will not divulge about anything her new love. But could it be an old love? Viewers started to believe that she could have rekindled with a old love.
Social Media Response
People were convinced that this "Petal" person is actually former president Jacob Zuma.
One user wrote, "Petal is Zuma let’s leave it at that shame.🤪 #RHODurban"
While another user had a elaborate theory on this and wrote, "That happy birthday post 👀 She even corrected someone that it’s an AP wrist piece The flowers are just to spice things up. There’s real Petal (msholozi) and then there’s cover up Petal (flower guy) She doesn’t look like she dates 9-5 guys"
I think LaConco keeps herself very private because there are things she's legally obligated not to share. When dealing with something as delicate as a former head of state, it can't be easy. But why choose to be on a reality if it is so risky? Things are bound to get tricky regardless of her being able to stand up for herself.
