Ukhozi FM has suspended their three employees who are part of the breakfast show team.
This was mentioned in the statement released by the SABC on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday morning, listeners of this leading radio station in Africa got surprised when they did not hear the presenter of the show, DJ Sgqemeza on air.
They thought perhaps he is sick or he could not come to work due to some urgent commitments as no word has been said about his absentia.
Things got more surprising when the seasoned radio presenter Siya Mhlongo was heard hosting the show. Mhlongo, stopped being an air presenter on Ukhozi FM in March this year as he is now a Vodcast presenter and also a Metro FM presenter on a Sunday gospel show alongside Thami Ngubeni.
Siya left being an on air presenter on Ukhozi FM when he was doing the drive show for two years.
Still, neither Mhlongo nor Mroza Buthelezi who was on air as well did mention what is happening with DJ Sgqemeza.
DJ Sgqemeza, whose real name is Sipho Mbatha was last heard on the show yesterday on Tuesday.
According to the SABC statement, he is not the only one suspended from the show. Two producers whose name are, Babheke Mthethwa, the content producer and Mandla Magwaza who also hosts the charts show on Saturdays, also got suspended.
In the statement, the SABC did not go much into details about the cause of their suspension but merely said the three members of the Vuka Mzansi Breakfast Show, the host and two producers got suspended following an internal investigation.
There was no directive as to when will the suspension run but Mhlongo and Buthelezi will continue holding the fort.
