Connie Ferguson, an actress, and widow were heartbroken on Tuesday, as it would have been her 20th wedding anniversary with her late husband Shona, who died four months ago. On July 30, Shona died as a result of Covid-19 problems. Connie took to Instagram to repost a gorgeous photo from their wedding ceremony in 2001, and in a simple but devastating statement, she expressed her struggle to be OK with marking the anniversary without her husband. Connie's firstborn daughter, actress Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson, accepted an award on her mother's behalf this weekend as GQ SA paid homage to Shona at the yearly Men Of The Year Awards.
Lesedi shared her sadness at living in a world without her father's physical presence on Tuesday, uploading photos of herself with her father's award. "I liked it more when you were our angel on Earth, at least I could badger you about whether or not you'd eaten yet, or find you sitting strangely on the couch, or catch you up on anything MCU-related." The more time passes, the more I realize how many things I have left unsaid. "The more I wonder whether I offered you enough affection, and regret the embraces I didn't give or accept," Lesedi wrote. In her sadness, the actress also questioned whether she had made her father proud before appealing to him to be with her mother Connie, whose agony she couldn't even understand.
"I also wonder whether I made you proud back then and if I'm making you proud today." I'm making an effort. I'm not sure if I'm succeeding. It's been more than four months since we lost you. It's also your Ma's 20th wedding anniversary. I can't imagine how bittersweet today is, and it makes me sad just thinking about it. Please accompany her today. She loves you more than words can express. Please let us know what you think about this in the comment section below, do not forget to like, share and follow.
