On Sunday 19 August 2021, Idols South Africa was on third week or rather third episode without judge Somizi Mhlongo Motaung on the panel after he was suspended from the show due to allegations raised by his husband Mohale Motaung Mhlongo that he abused him.
Although some are suspecting that judge Unathi and judge Randall are not seeing eye to eye because there is no Somizi to balance them, we cannot conclude that but indeed there wasa tension spotted by fans between the two.
Following are some people who spotted tension
"Today Randall and Unathi is like a couple who is co-parenting but each have different parenting styles... the poor contestants are going to be so confused (must they use the stage or must they stand on one spot). They must get a 3rd judge asap to neutralise things." Chantal Naidoo after show shared that,
Ayanda shared that," They definitely need Somizi to balance the judge commentary Unathi and Randall just pull in to different directions. "
