Amanda's lawyers calls MacG a "nobody "

Following the backlash caused by Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye's appearance on "Podcast and Chill with MacG," the podcaster and Amanda du-Pont have responded via their attorneys.

Eusebius McKaiser, a well-known author, shared a cease and desist letter sent to the "Little Big Mouth" star by MacG's lawyer for making defamatory statements on social media.

The podcaster's attorneys claimed in a document shared on Twitter that the statements made in Amanda's video were "unfounded" and "have consequentially influenced a large number of people to now view and label" MacG as a "rapist and abuser."

His reputation had also been "gravely harmed" by her "false, slanderous, and defamatory remarks," according to his lawyers.

Furthermore, he issued a list of demands to Amanda on Monday, including that she immediately cease and desist from making slanderous statements and issue a public apology on all of her social media platforms.

In response, Amanda's attorneys stated that she is not responding to every allegation in his letter.

They also claimed that MacG's reaction to Jub Jub's "smashed" remark on his "Podcast and Chill" episode was "demeaning and degrading to her, in particular, and to women in general."

In response to claims that Amanda's Instagram video harmed MacG's reputation, the company stated that "any reputational harm your client may have suffered (of which we are unaware) could only be attributed to your client's own unacceptable behavior."

Amanda would not be making a "public apology" on Monday – or ever, according to the letter.

It was also stated that MacG's claims that he "stands firmly against rape, assault, and gender-based violence and does not condone such acts" and "has distanced himself from" Jub Jub's comments contradicted his actions.

The letter concludes by stating that Amanda refused MacG's request for a "round table meeting," and that they were instructed to do so by the "Skeem Saam" actress because he "is a nobody."

Following the statement made on his behalf by the Maarohanye family's spokesperson, Andile Ngcobo, Jub Jub issued a statement on his social media platforms.

In it, he apologized for his remarks to Amanda and stated that he has "decided to allow the law to take its course."
