TshisaLive reports that eTV Scandal actress, social media enthusiast and now businesswoman Mapaseka 'Pasi' Koetle-Nyokong is spreading her fashion wings with the establishment of a new exclusive fashion boutique called Uzuri Secrets. 'Uzuri' means beauty in Swahili, meaning that the designer boutique is simply named 'Beauty Secrets'.
She reportedly had an online store of the same name that had been doing well prior to launching the physical store. Speaking to Constance Gaanakgomo, Mapaseka said the business was born from a close relationship she had with boutique owner Agnes whose advice helped her open her own store.

In an IG video detailing the months of work that she has done, Pasi is seen with an equally fashionable lady who we can assume is the beloved Agnes.
“There are good people out there. If she was jealous she wasn’t going to tell me to start my business. She saw potential in me that I didn’t see in myself,” she gushed over her friend.
From her vivacious character Dintle Nyathi to her relatable video skits, Mapaseka clearly has a unique perspective on modern fashion. She has a playful feminine style that incorporates traditional prints, detailed hems and sleeves, as well as clean lines.
Judging by the below Instagram post showing that she is wearing a design from her own boutique, Uzuri Secrets will stock similarly unique prints and flowing patterns for her fans to try on.
It is exciting to see a young woman taking aims at a more successful future. It's always a good idea to have multiple streams of income so that you are never caught off guard, as so many celebrities tend to be. I wonder if it's a coincidence that her store launched so close to SA Fashion Week? This could be a great opportunity for her to do some marketing.
Mapaseka can certainly make a strong brand of herself in the local fashion industry, especially because of her proven track record of slaying several fashion looks. She doesn't follow trends and seems to dress up for her own happiness, which is a great philosophy to impart to other women.
Shoppers at the Uzuri Secrets launch this past Saturday
Hopefully Mapaseka is also doing all the things a smart businesswoman would do like registering her store for tax, paying her employees fairly and crediting all where it's due.
That being said, let's congratulate her for juggling a hectic filming schedule, a fledgling entrepreneurial venture as well as motherhood. Not everyone is capable of that, and she's looking fabulous while doing it!
