Meet Candy Tsa Mandebele Mokwena, she is a South African singer, songwriter and actress. Candy is popular for singing in Khelobedu language, which is a dialect of the Northern Sotho language. She began her singing career when she was barely 14 years of age in her mother's community traditional group, Khekhapa.

Candy Tsa Mandebele comes from a family that embraces music, as the mother was the leader of a traditional musical group known as Khekhapa.

She was born and brought up in Limpopo in a remote village called GaSedibeng in Bolobedu with her mom and three siblings. When she turned 12, she joined Khekhapa, a music group in her village where her mother was the group leader, where she joined as a soloist.

In 2019, she starred in South Africa's first Xitsonga TV drama series Giyani: Land of Blood on SABC2. She featured as a flamboyant village queen Mhani Dayina, a role that received positive. This year again, she starring in the soapie.

She was born on 19 July 1970. She is 51 years old as of 2021.

She became pregnant at 17 years, prompting her drop out of school. After delivering a son named Phetole Lesley, she took up menial jobs to bring up her son. Unfortunately, she lost the son in a car accident in 2011.
