Berenike “Berry” Trytsman won the Idols SA music competition wrapped up on Sunday afternoon.
Berry (31) of Cape Town defeated Karabo Mathe (31) of Hebron, North West who was left with him in the final.
The Woodern mic won by Nonelela Roxy from Cape Town who sang a song about Coronavirus.
Last week KwaZulu-Natal's hopes were dashed when S'22kile came out. The singer has released the song Falling and has landed a recording contract with Kalawa Jazmee Records.
Berry and Karabo also obtained contracts with the company. Berry released Ungongami and Karabo released Hosanna.
Kalawa manager DJ Oskido said he was happy with the way people responded to the songs and thanked the people for their support.
By winning Idols SA Berry received R1 million cash, Renault Kiger car, cellphone, clothing, musical instruments and more.
The finals featured Mafikizolo with Mamezala, Musa Keys and Nobantu Vilakazi performing Vula Mlomo, last year's winner Zama who sang Isthunzi and others.
