28 January 2022

By Sphe J Hadebe

The entertainment industry is engulfed by the dark cloud of death since the year started as we continue losing celebrities.

Already this month, we have lost the veteran actor, Patrick Shai who passed away last week Saturday after he committed suicide and yesterday, on Thursday, we lost the veteran broadcaster, former Ukhozi FM presenter, Winnie Mahlangu who was the first black female in the SABC radio which was known as Radio Bantu.

Music industry also lost the former Rhythmic Elements member, Teekay.

It is not easy to lose a loved one, that pain is extremely hard and we can't imagine what their families are going through.

The music industry has been hit with the death of the well known Percussionist who worked a lot with the then popular music group, Rhythmic Elements.

His death also hit hard the singer, Kelly Khumalo who took to her social media and revealed how broken she is at his passing. Kelly explained that Teekay was more of a brother to her and now she will find it difficult going on stage without him.

One member of the Rhythmic Elements group, Mpho McKenzie recalled sharing great moments with Teekay when they worked together from 2008 to 2010. McKenzie said that Teekay was a hired member of the group but they worked with him for a long time.

He described Teekay as the fully devoted person in his work who made lot of impact on their music sd the group, Rhythmic Elements.

Teekay played a huge role in making their music being the best it was.

May his soul rest in peace.
