Shocking: Oscar Pistorious Moved to Another Prison, Here's Why

Convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius has been transferred to a prison closer to the parents of Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius shot and killed Reeva at their house back in 2013 on valentines day. The court proved that he fired four times through the door of his bedroom toilet

According to reports, warders moved him to a new prison so that he can be closer to the Steenkamp family and have face to face meetings as part of his parole process.

The athlete has served more than half of a 13-year jail term.

"Oscar Pistorius has been moved to a prison in Gqeberha. He will stay there until the process for his parole ends," a Correctional Services spokesman told AFP.

People on social media are having different reacstions. Some say he is giving preference because he is a white person.

"The white system is something else. Oscar Pistorius is said to be afforded an opportunity to go see the parents of the late Reeva Steenkamp whom he said he thought was an intruder hence he shot her execution style. How many black perpetrators are afforded such privileges? Wow, whites," wrote Katlego.

Meanwhile, South African motorists will be paying more than R20 per litre of petrol from December.
