Drake has withdrawn his nominations for the Grammy Awards.
Drake, 35, made the decision after previously criticizing the event's organizers for failing to nominate The Weeknd for any awards for his hit album 'After Hours.'
"I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and those that come after," he said at the time.Drake, one of the world's best-selling artists, also addressed the controversy on his Instagram page.
The rap star, who has previously won multiple Grammy Awards, wrote on the photo-sharing platform: "It's like a relative you keep expecting to change their ways, but they just can't.
"I said the other day that @theweeknd was a lock for album or song of the year, along with a slew of other reasonable assumptions, and it just never works out that way." (sic)"
Drake also compared award shows to professional sports, claiming that, unlike NBA players, he competes in a "opinion-based sport."
According to the "Back to Back" hitmaker: "I want you to understand that we play an opinion-based sport, not a fact-based sport. This isn't the NBA, where you get a trophy at the end of the season because you made the right decisions or won the games."
I think drake has let down his fans let alone showing pompous attitude , I mean it should have been an honor for him to receive another award to add on his collection of awards but he chose to withdraw
