Interesting facts about Khusela Diko’s Age Milestones and How She Is Coping With Her Husband’s Death

Khusela Diko is a politician from South Africa who has seen both the good and the bad sides of life. The quadragenarian has served in high governmental positions throughout the kingdom, married a King, been accused of corruption, and died as a widow after her young husband was slain. Her life, which had previously been happy, prosperous, and promising, now looks to be taking a surprising turn.

Coping with the death of a loved one is difficult, especially when the person in issue was your childhood husband. Diko lost her husband at a time when she needed him the most, when their firm, Royal Bhaca, was under investigation and her political career was in jeopardy. His death came as a great shock to her at this point, as she needed his help more than ever. All of this has been difficult for her. She is, nonetheless, a strong woman who is coping while getting back on her feet.

Khusela Diko is a well-known female politician in South Africa.

Life is said to begin at 40, but Khusela Diko's journey began much earlier. Khusela was born into a rich family in 1979. Her father was a well-known lawyer who operated a firm that is credited with producing some of the country's best lawyers today, and her mother was a schoolteacher.

After graduating from the University of South Africa (UNISA), where she studied Commerce for her first degree, her grandmother and mother encouraged her to enter politics. She ascended through the ranks of the ruling African National Congress (ANC), serving as a member of the Provincial Executive Committee – ANC Gauteng, Chief Director of Communications – Gauteng Provincial Government, and eventually becoming the spokesman for the President of South Africa.

The most amazing element of Khusela Diko's political career is that she accomplished all of her political objectives in South Africa before turning 40. And the fact that she has prospered despite being a woman in a male-dominated political sector demonstrates that success is achievable if you work hard enough.

What's more amazing is that she married into a royal family and became a queen before she turned 40. This reminded me of a scene from a Disney movie. She had a perfectly crafted future in front of her eyes until life interrupted. Diko went from being one of South Africa's most powerful woman politicians to a political outcast in an instant. After marrying a young monarch, she went from being a queen to becoming a widow. She deserves an Oscar nomination for how she handled these awful and heartbreaking situations.

Her husband's death, she said, tore her heart into a million pieces.

The death of Khusela Diko's wife, Nkosi Thandisizwe Diko, came as a shock to everyone. At the time, he was only 42 years old, and no one could have predicted his death. His wife appeared to be in excruciating pain, as crushed and heartbroken as anyone could be.

During his funeral service, Rethabile Matolweni recited a tribute she penned for him, describing how it was the toughest letter she had ever written and how the news of his death had broken her heart into a million pieces. She stated he promised she would never be abandoned, and she never expected him to ditch her so quickly.

She continued by saying that her husband lived his life as if it could end tomorrow, and that her seven years with him were filled with love. Other people, aside from herself, had nothing but good things to say about him. Since his death, Khusela Diko has been silent on Instagram, and she hasn't posted any images as she usually does. She seems to be still struggling to reassemble her life.

At the age of 39, Khusela Diko married Nkosi in the traditional way.

In December 2018, Khusela Diko married her late husband in a traditional ceremony that was hailed the "Wedding of the Year" by many. The two-day ceremony began in Khusela's hometown of AbaThembu on December 14th and continued the next day in her husband's hamlet of KwaBhaca.

Individuals in both kingdoms refer to their wedding as more than just a union of two people; it's the coming together of two kingdoms that were previously at conflict. The bride and groom, as well as the guests, wore traditional wedding attire.

The wedding was attended by major political heavyweights such as the then-Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, the Minister of Public Works, ANC elites, and royalties from around the country. Her lobola was kidnapped two weeks after the wedding for an undisclosed sum, despite the fact that it housed 24 animals. The perpetrators were apprehended and arrested shortly after.

We don't know how they met, but we do know that they met three years before their conventional wedding and that they were legally married two years before tying the knot. Furthermore, no information concerning the couple's children has surfaced since their wedding.

Khusela Diko married a king, and she became a widow at the age of 42.

Many people know Nkosi Thandisizwe Diko as Khusela Diko's husband, but few know that Chief Thandisizwe Diko II was the reigning king of AmaBhaca before his death, having ascended the throne as the Bhaca kingdom's king in April 2010.

He earned a bachelor's degree in law and sociology from the University of Natal and a master's degree in development communication from the University of Pretoria. At the time of his death, he and his wife were both studying law at the University of South Africa (UNISA).

After being one of the receivers of an inflated R2.2 billion COVID-19 PPE procurement, Nkosi Thandisizwe Diko's company, Royal Bhaca, was accused with corruption in 2020. The Gauteng Department of Health allegedly compensated his company for increased PPE pricing by R139 million. Thandisizwe Diko, on the other side, vehemently denied the allegations.

While the investigation was still ongoing, his death was reported in February 2021. According to reports, he died after a brief illness in an East London hospital. His son gave a speech at his burial, despite the fact that little is known about the number of children he had with Khusela. We don't know if he had the child with Khusela Diko or with someone else.

At the age of 39, Khusela Diko became the President's spokesperson.

After President Cyril Ramaphosa took over from Jacob Zuma in March 2018, he decided to reshuffle the cabinet, and Khusela Diko was selected as his spokeswoman. Despite having studied commerce at university, Khusela Diko had prior communication experience, which helped her land the job.

Khusela Diko's appointment can be credited to her long-standing devotion to the African National Congress (ANC), where she worked as a communication manager before being appointed as the president's spokesman at the Union Building. Before joining the ANC, she worked for the Gauteng Provincial Government as the Chief Director of Communications.

At the age of 39, she was already a member of the ANC Gauteng's Provincial Executive Committee and Provincial Working Committee, the party's highest decision-making body in the province.

Unfortunately for her, she was obliged to take a special leave due to concerns that she assisted her husband's company in winning the Gauteng Department of Health PPE tender due to his participation. As of this writing, investigations are still on to ascertain if she is guilty or not, while she still cope with the death of her spouse.
