South Africans have held prayers for IFP founder, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi who has been reported to have been admitted in hospital on Wednesday.

During the weekend, Buthelezi was alongside His Majesty King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini at Nquthu where there was a commemoration of the Impi Yasesandlwana.

With his age and the weather conditions, Buthelezi could have caught up some illness while he was out there.

The family confirmed that Buthelezi has been admitted in hospital.

The spokesperson of the family, Dr. Bhekuyise Buthelezi said a statement has been released following media queries on the IFP founder.

Dr Buthelezi said since there was no further information to send, the family requested that all enquiries must stop at this point.

However, he stated that should there be anything further to report once Prince Buthelezi returns home, they will then issued another statement.

Buthelezi stated that they appreciate the care that has been expressed for Prince Buthelezi's good health.

They stated that any messages of good wishes may be sent to the IFP founder's private secretary, Lyndith Waller on their email address.

Despite being at the age of 93, Buthelezi said he is not resigning from his duties as the member of Parliament. He is the eldest member of Parliament at the national Assembly.
