Ukuthwala rats are being fed so that they can be energetic and bring more money for the owner, the owner bought these rat from a Mkhulu and was also given isigubhu to make them go and bring money for him. They stay inside his house and he gets embarrassed when they are seen by people and they start to ask questions, he should lie and say its his pets. His neighbours know that he has ukuthwala rats and they are scared of him, they do not even greet him, these rats are not dangerous they just go and still money for the owner.
He has to feed them, if he does not do that they will become weak and die and the owner is staying alone he has no kids or a wife he is just a single bachelor who is just obsessed with money and wants to be rich. he suffered so much when he was growing up and he decided to go and thwala with these rats because he was scared of a snake.
