At a risk of sounding like an old person that I am, they just don't make South African hits like they used to. This is not to say the current generation of musicians are not talented, actually they are brilliant.
The current generation of South African musicians just have to compete in an era where a lifespan of a song is a fraction of what it used to be, just to prove themselves.
As we currently live in a streaming era where music consumption is at its most high, we still take some time to listen to good old songs from the mid 1990s after we gained our democracy. On any given day well known Kwaito group Boom Shaka always dominates the playlist. The band had group members Lebo Mathosa, Theo Nhlengethwa, Thembi Seete and Junior Sokhela.
The popular group were known for hit songs such as "it's about time" and "thobela" just to name a few. During that era they also went to introduce popular dance moves such as "Chop di Grass" and "kwasa kwasa". As talented as they were, Lebo Mathosa was one of their outstanding performers. She was largely known for her provocative dancing style.
With Lebo Mathosa having departed this earth in 2006 after she was involved in fatal car crash, we have since went to learn that she was suffered by a sister who is known as Queen Mathosa. Unlike her late sister Queen is not much in the spotlight. We have since went to learn that Queen Mathosa is part of the LGBTQ community.
According to information obtained we have since went to learn that Queen is currently married to her longtime sweetheart Refilwe Nkosi. The pair walked down in alsie in 2017 in an intimate wedding. Like most couples they usually take to social media to flaunt their love and showering each other with compliments.
