"When I was released from prison, I discovered that my son had been imprisoned" Mother tells her story with emotion.
Joyce Wanja's story was featured in a jail stories section on Inooro TV two years ago.
Joyce Wanja was imprisoned for roberry in the Lang'ata women's prisons. She confessed to drugging men in clubs and then robbing them of valuables and cash. She stole a music system from a club owner one fateful day, and as she was selling it, the cops caught up with her.
After 13 years in prison, Joyce Wanja is suddenly free.

Unfortunately, she discovered a few years later that her son had been arrested as well.
Because he had no one to advise him, her son ended himself in terrible company. After stealing music equipment from a church, he was arrested and sentenced to ten years in prison.
Joyce used her experience to encourage moms to work hard for their children and stay away from crime in order to avoid finding up in the same situation as her.
