Last week news broke that Etv will be broadcasting the 1997 movie Anaconda starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube in its Saturday prime time movie spot. 
People on Twitter went in a rant that Etv should just give up showing Anaconda they repeat the movie every year atleast twice. Even Mmusi Maimane used that as a jab to the ANC, Pearl Thusi joined in on it and slammed Etv aswell. People said they watched it as kids and are now watching with their kids too.
However entertainment blogger shared stats that the movie Anaconda pulled 2.4 million viewers. Social media were shocked because they said people boycott on social media but they still end up watching the movie. Which is probably why Etv airs the movie so often.
