This week I realised something very important while watching DJ Zinhle's show, that she loves and supports women! Why else would such a majority of her staff be women? In her home there is Zama who is her house manager. We also met Phumzile, her personal assistant who is venturing into DJing like her boss.
I don't know how many bosses would be comfortable with that transition from their employee. She was firm as she addressed Phumzile's secrecy about the matter and encouraged her to be honest. It seemed like they had come to an understanding about what needs to happen moving forward.
However, the first of her staff at Era that we met was Masego who was on her way out after five years at Era by DJ Zinhle. It was an emotional moment as she confided to Zinhle that she needed job security for her child and the only way forward, was to resign.
This week the fall out of her decision is felt by Zinhle and Kholiwe, who now have to scramble to figure out how Masego was making things work. I think that Zinhle is lucky her sister-in-law is part of the company, anyone else would not have had her back that quickly about it. Kholiwe was ready to spring into action, lamenting only that she would not have time to do other things now.
Kholiwe is alleged to be Zenzele's bride through lobola, which they discussed during the first episode. However there is no proof that their union is official. She is the mother of this children as seen on this Instagram post. Where she is congratulating them on their academic achievements.
This prospect was hard enough without seeing the teaser for next week which has Kholiwe alleging that there's been theft in the company. It is a tough blow for Era after losing such a crucial member. But also, if the team is comprised of not many people, the theft could be from one of Zinhle's nearest and dearest. I am anxious to find out how true this is.
