Rapper AKA opens up about his battle with depression. AKA said he has been diagnosed with clinical depression many many months ago. He said he was put on medication. He said he could not handle the medication, they made him feel as if he could not feel anything, he said his whole job was to feel. AKA said he wanted it to be known because there are so many people who fight it every day. He encouraged those who are facing depression to hang in there. It gets better he said.
Aka's mother, Lynn Forbes came out to support her son. She said Last night Kiernan spoke about being diagnosed with depression and living with depression for many months. She said speaking of something this personal requires alot of courage. she felt grateful.
AKA lost his fiancé in April this year. He said in a sit down interview that He and his fiance had been having a difficult week. They began fighting and it escalated to a point were she jumped of the 10th floor at the Pepperclub club hotel in Cape Town. Living with depression is not easy it takes guts to speak out about it. Just last week YouTuber star Lasizwe admitted himself into a mental health facility wellness center.
