In the entertainment industry, South Africa has established itself as a key player. Mzansi is home to a wealth of talented performers that have wowed us with their incredible performances on television.
Celebrity entertainers such as Leleti Khumalo, Vuyo Dabula, Connie Ferguson, and Vusi Kunene have earned a name for themselves on the international arena. However, the business has recently been gifted with some individuals who are building a name for themselves in the entertainment sector despite holding a variety of prestigious degrees.
I've compiled a list of South African celebrities who have earned university degrees. Check out the list to see if your favorite South African celebrity is included...
1. Boity Thulo.
Boity attended Monash University and majored in Psychology and Criminology.
2. Nomzamo Mbatha.
Lately, Nomzamo Mbatha has established himself as one of the most well-known household names in the entertainment business. Despite having a slew of lucrative side jobs, the famous actress has managed to impress Mzansi with her talent. She earned a BA in Commerce with a major in Accounting from the University of Cape Town. Thandeka, her Isibaya character, is her most well-known role.
3. Nandi Mbatha.
Nandi Mbatha is a law student at the University of South Africa who has yet to complete her studies. She had previously been studying Political Science, but had decided to discontinue her studies. Nandi is most recognized for her role in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Isithembiso as Simlindile ‘Simi' Ngema.
4. Nyalleng Thibedi.
Despite her passion for acting, Nyalleng Thibedi possesses a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town. Regardless, the 40-year-old star actress is best recognized for her role as Uzalo in the film Uzalo.
5. Thando Thabethe.
She earned her degree from the University of Johannesburg with a BCom Accounting degree in 2011. Thando Thabethe, on the other hand, was Nivea's African brand ambassador. The attractive actress also plays "Linda Ndlovu" in Mzansi Magic's Housekeepers series.
6. Candice Modiselle.
Candice Modiselle earned an Honours in Dramatic Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand. While she was still on Generation: The Legacy, the star actress astonished Mzansi with her spectacular performances as Lerato.
7. Amanda Du Pont.
Amanda Du Pont attended the New York Film Academy to study film and drama.
8. Nadia Nakai.
She graduated from Kenya with a degree in Marketing, Communication, and Media Studies.
It never hurts to have a backup plan. However, it's no surprise that a handful of well-known South African celebrities have also pursued graduate degrees. Others, on the other hand, choose for the obvious educational path.
