Yesterday South Africa was rocked by the announcement that actor and performer Patrick Shai had died. Many were shocked as to how he had just suddenly died. The cause of death has been announced as suicide, he allegedly hanged himself in the garage of his house in Diepkloof, Soweto. According to Sunday World who broke the news Yesterday, Shai was found by his wife, who was quick to unsung him and put him on the floor.
Shai, who was recently off the spotlight due to the drying up of acting gigs due to the coronavirus pandemic that broke in March 2022, came back in the spotlight last week when he dared to fight rapper Cassper Nyovest on Twitter.
Shai unfortunately said some swearing words towards the rapper's mom and many on social media were ready to crucify him. Shai was called out and called names by those who found his comments unnecessary seeing he was much older than Nyovest.
His death has now been blamed on the rapper, for some reason, and he has responded on Twitter with just one sentence, " God Knows".
One person who has come in support of Nyovest is politician and EFF leader, Julius Malema, who esponded to Nyovest's twet, "true".
Nyovest has added that one needs to have prayer as their backup and shield at all times.
Meanwhile, Shai's family is yet to announce funeral details and the entertainment industry is expected to host various memorial services in his honor.
