SABC has taken a move to suspend three of its employees who are radio personalities.
This comes after an internal investigation which has found them guilty and has led to the public broadcaster into taking decisive and swift actions which has led to the three employees be suspended indefinite.
The three employees are from Ukhozi FM as one of them it is the presenter and two are producers.
The SABC confirmed in a statement that three Ukhozi FM personalities have been suspended. Although it did not disclose names but SowetanLive revealed that it is Sipho 'Sgqemeza' Mbatha who is the host of the Vuka Afrika Breakfast Show, Mandla 'Njinji' Magwaza who is the technical producer of the show and Babheke Mthethwa.
Listeners were amazed on Wednesday when they did not hear Sgqemeza on air but it was the voice of Sya Mhlongo which woke them up. Sya hosted this show alongside Mroza Buthelezi who is the co-host of the show and who was left from this suspension.
In a statement that the SABC released, Ukhozi FM said the management regrets to inform the listeners that three members of the breakfast show team have been unscheduled after an internal investigation was made. The statement clearly put it that it is the host and two producers of the show.
However, the management did not discuss this matter further as it is an employer-employee relationship which is governed by the Corporation's policies.
