Dineo Ranaka becomes a Sangoma!
She took to social media to announce that she has finally gathered the strength to say ‘yes’ to her ancestral calling. Like many other celebrities, she is now a Sangoma and can be referred to as ‘Gogo Somahashe’ henceforth.
“On many occasions they asked and I eventually said YES, Camagu. Thokoza thongo lami,” the radio presenter wrote on Instagram.
We can all agree that the signs have always been there although very subtle. We can, in fact, all agree that the news and confirmation does not come as a shock.
In one of her reality show episodes, she consulted a Sangoma who openly confirmed that she was destined to become one of two things: a prophet or a Sangoma.
It’s great and all that she took her calling seriously, but over years, I’ve come to realise that most talented people eventually become Sangomas. The question then stands: is it a celebrity trend and are we missing something?
Soon after it was revealed that she was destined for greater things, she opened up about attending initiation school leading to becoming a Sangoma. However, due to circumstances, she couldn’t complete the initiation process then but has finally completed it now.
Congratulations are in order!
