New Zulu King Misuzulu speaks on Death Threats, Polygamy, Land and His Vision for his people

The new Zulu Monarch has spoken publicly for the first since he was nominated by his late mother's will as the rightful heir to the Zulu throne.

A contest continues for the Zulu throne as Prince Simakade, his father's oldest son, persists in the fight for the throne. The 47-year-old Zulu Monarch recollected the events of the day his late mother's will and how he had to be taken to safety soon after his name was called out as the next Zulu Monarch and a sense of displeasure filled the room from his brother, Prince Simakade. He assured the Zulu nation that despite the current divisions in the royal family, sometime in the near future the family will eventually come together and reach a common consensus as they have a nation to provide for whose best interest is in all their hearts.

The King seems to have avoided the question of polygamy and just went on to say he has a wife and two beautiful boys, all of whom he loves dearly.

Pertaining to the land issue, the King reiterated that his vision for the nation is to develop the informal and rural areas of Zululand and acknowledged that the land control he has under the Ingonyama Trust would give him great power in making progress towards achieving this vision.
