After South Africans learnt with shock about the passing of legendary TV, film and theatre actor, Shaleen Surtie Richards, they took it to social media expressing how they were just watching her on TV as soon as on their yesterday.
Shaleen was born on the 7th of May in Upington in 1955. She is popularly known for her roles on soapies such as Generations and eGoli. She was also featured in Mzansi's famous comedy movie Mama Jack. She received many awards during her career, which includes a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Royalty Soapie Awards.
"It really hits hard, we surely didn't expect it to be this soon. I’m definitely going to watch Mama Jack after work in your remembrance, Rest In Power," Lonwabo Mathonzi posted.
"My intuition really will never let me down. Was watching Mama Jack yesterday and wondering if she's still alive and ok, only to find now that she's no more," Nokuzola Ntimba commented.
"As I was watching her yesterday on mama Jack then this morning I hear this sad news. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace," Kagiso Machau posted.
As it stands many South Africans have been watching Mama Jack over the weekend which they believe it was preparing them for the sad news. Taking nothing from anyone, May the soul of Shaleen rest in peace.
