Jonas Gwangwa died on Saturday. He was 83.

He passed on the third commemoration of the demise of jazz legend Hugh Masekela and Zimbabwean musician Oliver Mtukudzi.

The amazing jazz artist and political extremist will be regarded with a unique commonplace memorial service in Johannesburg on Friday at 9:00.

The memorial service will be held at Christ King Anglican Church in Sophiatown and transferred on YouTube.

In an uncommon message shared on President Cyril Ramaphosa's Twitter page, Jonas was recognized as a "monster of our progressive social development and our vote based innovative businesses".

The artist made the scores for notable movies like Cry Freedom, and at the 60th Annual Academy Awards in 1988, he played out his selected song Cry Freedom.

In 1988, he performed at the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute at Wembley Stadium.
