Fans theories on Twitter say Idols SA contestant Nqobie went home because of Randall

This week was a difficult week for Nqobie supporters and I count myself amongst them. It is always sad when your favourite goes home but it was even sadder this week when Twitter started to come up with reasons why this happened and it might make sense. I surely hope that isn't the case.

The theory from many of the fans tweeting online was that the real reason Nqobie is going home is because Randall showed too much affection towards her. Usually a stoic judge, when it came to Nqobie we all noticed he was softer. Maybe it was because he genuinely liked her and believed in her talent. But did it cost her the win?

Historically speaking, South Africa loves an underdog. They love to route for the ones not being supported. Currently, despite S'22kile not being vocally on par with her peers, she is still making it through week after week. My own theory is that because she is getting so much push back, she is being boosted by the voters.

Last week, Nqobie's performance was so good that Oskido didn't hesitate to tell Zonke to tune in. Once she did, Zonke volunteered that whatever happens to her in the competition, she wanted to write a song for Nqobie. I hope that remains true because as a vocalist she is very talented.

Though she didn't get to sing for us this week. I hope we get to see perform soon. Perhaps this must serve as a reminder that you can't vote by posting on social media. You have to actually use the platforms given.

I will say though on a positive note, that tonight the Mzansi Gay Choir really brought it on. They were so sassy and their vocals were amazing. They really added something special to the evening overall.

What did you think of the show?
