Kiernan "AKA" Forbes, a rapper, has spoken up about his mental health concerns.
The rapper recently stated on his Instagram stories that he was diagnosed with depression "months ago."
"I need to make this known, especially when there are so many individuals out there struggling every day." "Many, many months ago, I was diagnosed with clinical depression," he wrote.
The rapper claimed that, despite being offered medicine for his ailment, he chose not to take it since it interfered with his ability to feel, which is fundamental to his work.
"I was put on medication, but I couldn't take it." They made me feel as if I couldn't feel anything, so I left. In addition, my entire duty is to feel."
Lynn Forbes, AKA's mother, took to her timeline to commend AKA for his bravery in speaking out about his mental health.
"Kiernan spoke out last night about being diagnosed with clinical depression and struggling with depression for many months." "It takes a lot of guts to talk about something so intimate," she wrote.
