Trevor Noah mourns his Gogo in touching tribute

“My grandmother used to tell me stories of how the Nazis were able to murder millions of people in the name of their twisted ideas about race,” Trevor Noah said, reading a letter he wrote to his Gogo. The letter, which was read on “The Daily Show” a few days after the Gogo’s death in July, was written to comfort Noah’s grandmother, who was grieving the loss of her husband, and to offer her support.

“Trevor, you will go down in history as one of the greatest comedians of all time,” Nelba Flores, Comedy Central’s vice president of content, said in a statement. “The impact you have had on so many will never be forgotten.”

A bereft Trevor Noah spoke about the death of his longtime friend, Gogo Gogo, on his “Tonight Show” on Monday, saying that the comedian “gave me more than 20 years of love and laughter.”
