The police officer investigating the cause of death for the veteran actor, Patrick Shai has revealed what led to his death.
Although his family had remained mum as they did not reveal in the statement they released on Saturday, but the police investigating his death have released a report to the media.
Police say the late actor, Patrick Shai took his own life and his lifeless body was discovered by his wife, hanging in the garage of his home.
The spokesperson for the family, Amogelang Mmusi told the media that the family were ready to confirm the cause of death at the moment.
However, the local publication, TshisaLive, is in possession of a SAPS communication in which the police wrote a report that Shai alleged took his own life and was discovered by his wife, Mmasechaba Shai.
This communication states that Mmasechaba found her husband hanging in the garage and she then tied him from the ropes to lay him on the floor while she sought help.
Mmasechaba and Patrick had been married for 17 years and stayed together until the end. She remained in her marriage despite Patrick abusing her and even admitted that he had abused her for years during their marriage.
It will be remembered that 6 years ago, 2016 to be precise, Mmasechaba told Move!magazine all about the abuse she had endured from her husband and how she finally thought it is over when Patrick saw the error of his ways and started seeking help.
