Amapiano genre has been doing very well in South. It has also done well in Africa. We also often hear it in Nigerian Movies. Many artist are now taking the genre overseas. The likes of Kamo Mphela,Cassper and Major league has been well received overseas.
Organisers of the most anticipated awards are pretty much sure that the event will go on without any Interruption. There has been a lot of drama surrounding the South african Amapiano awards. Two host will be unveiled for the event next week. Moshe Ndiki has been tipped to be amongst one of the host.
Tickets will be released to the public for the event. However according to insiders they have said that not all is perfect. They claim that the founder DJ Qness Ndlovu has got financial challenges. This could put the whole event on jeopardy.
One source claimed that the DJ failed to secure the venue for the event. He was supposed to pay there deposit. He failed to achieve his goal said a source. On the system it does not show any signs that the event has been booked,no booking under his name said a source.
On Friday the booking agent echoed the same sentiments saying no bookings is reflecting on the system under the DJ for October 23 said the agent.
Another source said they were banking on the fact that the country will be under strict COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. This could have led to a small group of people availing themselves or the event could have taken another twist( Virtual event).
I bet he will make announcement in the last minutes that the event will be hosted virtually. He is probably weighing his options said an insider.
However DJ Qness has denied the allegations saying he does not need a sponsorship. The award will take place come hell or high water.
No changes as far as I am concern. Sandton convention centre has been booked he said.
Ndlovu believes most people are jealous of his concept for the award.
