Skeem Saam is a South African TV drama that was developed by Winnie Serite and has been aired on SABC1 since the year 2011. The action of the show takes place in Johannesburg as well as in Turfloop. It quickly became popular after it debuted, rivaling Generations in its success. Skeem Saam, which is produced by SABC Education, is a show that focuses mostly on young people. It has now aired for a total of ten seasons.
Over the years, Skeem Sam has gained over a million viewers. One thing about TV dramas is that the more you watch them, the more they become a part of your life, to the point where you might even consider them a person. What hurts most is when your favourite character has to leave. There are many people who watch soaps for a certain character. That is why you find a soapie losing viewers after announcing that there’s a certain character who is leaving.
Skeem Sam has just announced that one of the main characters on the show is leaving. Shoki Mmola, who played the role of Celia Kunutu, will be leaving Skeem Sam. The reason why she’s leaving was not revealed, but rumours say she’s not happy with the way she’s being paid, so she decided to call it quits.
After this was announced, many people were very touched because they loved her role and how she always spiced the drama. Some even went so far as to say Skeem Sam should be canceled because the show would never be the same without her. Many people are not happy that she’s leaving; they still want more of her character.
What’s your take on this? If you had to make a decision about her character, would you let her leave or make her stay? Leave your views below.
