The Independent On line news has reported of the hardwork and dedication that has paid off for Mokhudu Machaba, who has been serving as a teacher for seventeen years .
She is reported to have highlighted that even though the career has given her much joy , it was not the career that she had in mind.She said that she took the career out of the need for finance as her family was in great need of money.
She said she took teaching to get herself out of the misery of poverty.Little did she know that it was the best decision that she made as she got awarded for her hard work.
It is reported that the previous week , she found her name in the top ten finalist for the Global Teacher Prize 2020.This is done yearly to recognise and honour the best teachers in the whole world.
It is heard that Ranjitsinh Disale , who is from India walked away as the winner and was the recipient of the US $1 million .However , he decided to share his prize money equally amongst the ten other finalists. As Machaba was in the top ten , it meant that she got a share of just less than R1-million .
