Social Media without a doubt is a very powerful platform where people can easily express themselves. It provides a chance for celebrities to engage with their fans personally. In most cases, things don’t go smoothly for our favorite celebrities online. One celebrity who has been trending because of the recent video that she posted is Ntsiki Mazwai.
In the video, media personality Ntsiki Mazwai is addressing the incident between Bujy Bikwa and Boity Thulo. She can be heard saying that she has a problem with GBV ( Gender Based Violence) being put in the same level as ‘impi yase tywaleni’. She continued to say that she has a problem with two drunkards swearing at each other, being in the same category as some woman who is genuinely being abused.
Tweeps reacted to the video and expressed how it made them feel. One Tweep said:”Mara Ntsiki if a straight man throws a bottle at his gilfriend at a groove after she insulted him while they were both drunk would you use this logic? Be honest.”
Another Tweep said:”Ntsiki, do you realize that if that becomes the way to go, half of GBV cases that we've tried our best to expose & condemn will be GBV no more. If we go beyond violence itself & dig out reasons?”
Well some Tweeps agreed with Ntsiki Mazwai and also expressed how they felt. “Preach! I had to take a few steps back and educate myself. What people need to know and understand is that GBV has an oppressive nature. Power and or force is used to oppression another gender. What happened between Boity and Bujy is simply physical and verbal assault,” said another Tweep.
