King Misuzulu denies he is planning a secret coronation
King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has denied that he is planning a secret coronation ceremony.
This was revealed by Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s legal team on Thursday at the Pietermaritzburg High Court where his uncle, prince Mbonisi kaBhekuzulu filed a court interdict against him.
He was responding to Misuzulu’s uncle prince Mbonisi’s legal team claims that the king was planning a secret ceremony to put him on the Zulu throne.
Even prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi denied that there was any planned coronation ceremony.
In a written affidavit, Buthelezi said if there was such a planned event he would have known.
This led to Judge Bezuidenhout postponing the case so it could be heard next week together with a case that has been filed against King Zwelithini’s will.
Due to the decision that the interdict was not granted, Judge Bezuidenhout instructed that no cost should be paid by Prince Mbonisi.
King Misuzulu completed his early schooling in Eswatini, his mother's home country, and later attended high school in South Africa, at St. Charles College, Pietermaritzburg. On 6 May 2021, a day before his mother's funeral service, King Misuzulu married his long-time partner, Ntokozo Mayisela. The couple met in August 2009 during the royal wedding of King Misuzulu's sister, Princess Bukhosibemvelo and former Transnet executive Sipho Nyawo, at the Durban Botanic Gardens. On 13 May 2021, King Misuzulu sent a delegation to Mayisela's home to negotiate and pay lobola in terms of Zulu marriage custom. The lobola was reported to consist of eight cows and fifty thousand South African Rands.
Some sources claim he has a degree in international studies, while others state he is still pursuing the degree, in Jacksonville, Florida. He has two children with his wife, Ntokozo Mayisela, and another child with Princess Wezizwe Sigcau of amaMpondo royalty.
