The impact of social media on our society cannot be overemphasized. The emergence of this beautiful form of Interaction has had its own positive and negative effect on the human race.
In today's article, we will have to learn that we do not need social media followers to validate our celebrity status or to believe that we are truly loved by people. Some of your followers on social media might love your content online and may not give a damn about your existence in real life.
This is the exact situation a Nigerian popular Tiktoker based in the United States found herself in. We all may have seen or heard about Grace Amaku on Tiktok, she actually organized a meet and greet session with her Tiktok fans but unfortunately for her, no one showed up.
It is pertinent to note that Grace Amaku already had a huge following of over 1.3 million people on her Tiktok before the event was organized.
This should serve as a serious lesson to people who value social media hypes and followership than real friends. We should all learn to enjoy the real friends that are there for us physically because they are the true friends we have.
This was contained in a statement issued by Chinedu Ani on Twitter:
"US-based Nigerian TikTok star, Grace Amaku, left heartbroken after no one showed up for her meet-and-greet event despite having 1.3 million followers".
