Meet the daughter of a top PSL team, who is an actress


She was born and raised in Lamontville, a township in Durban in 1996 to Manqoba Mngthi, who is one of the three coaches of Sundowns. Asavela went to AFDA film school to study film. Her name is Asavela

She plays as Ntwenhle, the daughter of Bongani Gumede's character, Mandla Ndlovu on Isibaya. Though she never brought her boyfriend to the public but it seem like she have one, following her Instagram post. 

"I have such a thoughtful man…I don’t know how I settled for less before. I’ve been with my man for years now and he never misses anything when it comes to me. Always so gentle even when I’m a bit loco…thungisani right now!" she gushed.

She paid a prize for being famous, when her house was broken by thugs and they demanded her to give them the ring she wore she married Dabula (Chris Radebe), her on-screen spouse. They called her by her onscreen character name as they were searching for the ring and she told it belonged to the props on the show.


Manqoba was born in 1971 Umzikhulu in KZN, he was a secondary school teacher before he started coaching Maritzburg FC in 2006. In 2007-2010, he became a coach of Golden Arrows. After his stinct at Maritzburg, he coached AmaZulu, he also left it Chippa and he left again went back to Golden Arrows.
