Manqoba was born in 1971 Umzikhulu in KZN, he was a secondary school teacher before he started coaching Maritzburg FC in 2006. In 2007-2010, he became a coach of Golden Arrows. After his stinct at Maritzburg, he coached AmaZulu, he also left it Chippa and he left again went back to Golden Arrows.
