Sonia Mbele was best known for playing Ntombi Khumalo on Generations from 2003-2011. She became known as the wife of Leslie Sedibe, who was was South African Football Association chief executive from 2010 to 2011. They were married for 8 years. They divorced in 2014.
In a recent interview on Podcast and Chill with Mac G, she opened up about her misery trying to find love again after divorce
“With my ex boyfriend, I used to say yes [I want to get married again] ... but now that he's no longer there I'm like meh,” she said.
Sonia said, she that she had even tried to find love on Tinder for two weeks under a different name towards the end of 2020.
There were rumours that she and the late Menzi were linked.
“We never, not even once. To a point where [when] we said goodbye, we respected each other's spaces. I would not call him at home. There were boundaries that should never be crossed and we never crossed one single one, it was highly professional,” she addressed those rumours.
Despite her failed attempts to find love, Sonia Mbele is currently playing a crime lord called Zola in DiepCity.
