A 2021 matric candidate says he was shocked when he received his matric results today. Kwanda Nyazeka says his results came back as "Failed".
According to him, he wasn't expecting this outcome as he has studied hard for his exams and was hoping to pass with distinctions. However, he is not throwing the towel as he says he is determined to write again this year.
Facebook users comforted Kwanda with messages of encouragement.
Mbali Fit wrote: "Congratulations to you for accepting and working on a plan towards it. Not everyone is that brave".
Wanga Nokwe wrote: "It is never too late. Remember this is your journey, and yours alone. Big up for accepting. Now go and look for a school. This is your future".
The 2021 matric pass rate is 76.4%, which is a slight difference from 2020 results which were 76.2%. The highest recorded pass rate in the past 10 years was in 2019 with 86.3%.
