Schools reopening moved to 02 August

Ramaphosa took the country to level 4 due to the high rise in cases reported and confirmed positive of coronavirus. South African is currently under third wave attack of this pandemic. The third wave has caused a stir and huge spread of the virus, especially in Gauteng.

The country was taken to level 4 from the 28th of June 2021 until 11 July. The president extended another 14 days until 25 July. Schools were closed and have been said to open on 26 July 2021. Now the date of opening of schools has been moved to 2nd of August. They have been moved by a week due to early close and schools have to prepare a safe and healthy environment for pupils.

All pupils are expected to report back to school on 2 August 2021. Teachers want all pupils back to school so they can catch up on all the work left behind. This pandemic has caused a delay and destruction in teaching and learning. Teachers want pupils to return to their daily routine and timetable to cover up with the curriculum.
