A young school girl from KwaZulu Natal grew up loving traditional attire. She felt so special each time she donned the attire.
But that traditional attire led her to her ancestral calling. And so she began wearing traditional attire to school.
But school authorities were not impressed. They resorted to suspending her and this did not sit down well with the young scholar.
She decided to end her life. She was a student at Nombika High in the iLembe district in KZN.

On Tuesday the provincial education department said it was saddened by the news of the death of the 15-year-old pupil from Nombika High in the iLembe district.
“The deceased was recently in the news because of the problem she had with the school regarding her traditional rituals," he said.
It is thought the pressure of being suspended and that of being in the news was the final nail to the box.
