Just as the Gauteng Education Department was celebrating the release of good results for the 2021 Matric results , it was hit by yet another black cloud of death . This was after a 50 year old Deputy School Principal from Phomolong was fatally shot on Friday in Tembisa .
In accordance with the Basic Education Department , the deputy principal got shot at as she was leaving the school premises . It was alleged that the three suspects just made an appearance and shot at her three times . They reportedly used her passenger window to do the shooting . The incident devastated the Education MEC Mr Panyaza Lesufi and he conveyed condolence messages to the family , friends and loved ones .Mavela Masondo from the South African Police Service confirmed that a murder case had been opened following the fatal shooting of the school principal .A man hunt is reported to have been launched by the police .The motive for the killing of the deputy principal could not be determined , but police called for members of the public to assist with information that will lead to the solving of the case . If there is anyone who may have information , law enforcement agencies may be informed.
It is devastating how criminals have targeted schools into committing their crimes . In the first week of the reopening of schools in Gauteng , there was a fatal shooting yet again of a school stuff member . The reasons behind the shooting were not known yet again . The law enforcement agencies need to work hard and find the suspects responsible for the killings . It is not safe for members of the public as well as schools as long as those criminals will be out in the streets doing what they want and when they want to .
