Due to past leakages of Mathematics paper 2 and Physical sciences Paper 2, it is seen that the Department of Education has taken extra precaution by using different matric papers after realising that there is a high chance that somebody in the country is in possession of all NSC papers which may result in yet another leakage.
Grade12 learners who wrote their exams recently were given the 2020 backup paper for Business Studies and Life Sciences Paper1.Screenshots are circulating on social media , indicating that the life sciences paper was leaked in the early hours of Friday morning before learners could be seated for the Life Sciences examination. The leakage is seen to have happened on a Whatsapp groupchat.

Education Department's spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga has confirmed that an investigation is underway regarding the possibility of the leakage of the Life Sciences paper 1 backup paper.
Matrics are yet to know if they will be required to rewrite another Mathematics Paper 1 and Physical Sciences Paper 2 but it seems like one more paper has been added to the list.
Anyone with information regarding leakages can contact the department of Education to give an anonymous report.
Do you think that this academic year should have been cancelled?
