It was a busy day for the Gauteng Education MEC Mr Panyaza Lesufi visited a number of schools in his province to ensure that lock down protocols were being adhered to.The schools reopened on Monday the 26th of July following the approval by the President Mr Cyril Ramaphosa.
The MEC was on a mission of ensuring that the Covid-19 protocols were being followed in schools to ensure the safety of children. He also wanted to be certain that learners and the educators were in good spirit .
One of the schools that was visited by the MEC Mr Panyaza Lesufi was the Irene Middle School which is in Irene, Centurion .It was noted that the Gauteng Department of Education's Covid-19 screeners were at the school making sure that everything was being done according to book .
The learners and the staff members are reported to have had been ready to resume with the new term.When such preparations are made by schools , it becomes easy for the anxiety to be brushed away in parents and learners.The parents and learners need assurance that schools are safe against Covid-19.

Another school that was visited by the Education MEC for the Gauteng Province Mr Panyaza Lesufi was Laerskool Kommando which is in Brakpan.The MEC was pleased with what he saw happening at the school.
The learners were wearing their masks properly and the educators were ready to get the job done.It is so important for school children to wear their masks all the time as it protects them against the possibility of getting infected.
Even though the teachers may have been vaccinated and safe from getting infected, the learners can still infect each other if they fail to adhere to the procedures. Since the Delta variant can be spread to children, it is essential that Covid-19 protocols are followed.

Another school that was visited by the MEC Mr Panyaza Lesufi was Eureka High School which is located in Springs. The MEC managed to engaged with learners and educators during his visit.He was there to also ensure that there was adherence to the Covid-19 regulations in order to limit the spread of the Covid-19.
