After president Cyril Ramaphosa announced that schools will not reopen on the 19th of July due to the high cases of covid-19 third wave reported daily, this decision left a lot of questions in parents heads and learners asking themselves if they will ever reopen.

Parents in rural areas are worried about the deadly wave and also worried about their kids lives and well being, most of the parents who talked to us about their opinions on whether should schools reopen or not ,they all have different opinions , some say they should reopen so that kids can go and learn and some disagree.

The confusion that learners are facing regarding the reopening of schools , it might also make them lose foucs because they are worried about their own health and well being.

We took time and asked a few learners from different communities how they feel about reopening of schools during this dangerous pandemic, they also voiced out different opinions , majority of them they are scared of getting back to school and some really want to get back to school and learn.

The department of basic education has promised to protect all learners by following the covid-19 rules and regulations issued by the department of health and World Health Organisation (W.H.O)

Washing of hands frequently , social distance and wearing of mask still remains the best way to protect one another, schools have been doing everything in their power to keep learners healthy.
