Kearsney College, based in Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, has become South Africa's most costly school. A year at the privately-owned school might cost a parent R200 000.

Local media sources state that the college is one of the greatest in terms of providing the best education, but it appears to come at a price.

When it comes to institutions that charge a lot for a high school student, the private boarding school is at the top of the list.

I've also considered looking into other schools that cater to children from middle-class to rich families.

The most costly school in South Africa is Kearsney College.

The KZN-based school offers a lot of sport activities from rugby to football as well as athletics and we look at the price list from the past few years. Parents paid R199 320 for this year's fees, and they must be prepared to pay R209 000 for the 2022 academic year.

St Johns College, is second on the list, will charge R179 000 next year, while Roedean School will charge no less than R176 000 in 2022. St Stithians, which charged R154 in 2021 and will charge R162 110 next year, is ranked tenth.

In 2021, Kearsney celebrated its 100th anniversary, and the school continues to stand out as an extraordinary institute of learning, a place where tomorrow's leaders are fostered and educated.

The college is also active on social media, where they congratulated their matric students after they completed their exams. The following is what the school wrote:

The last batch of matrics finished their exams today and said their farewells to the College. The old bell in the Centenary Arch is rung by each boy as he finishes at the College. Thank you and good luck to the Class of 2021.”

here is what some had to say on the social;

@Marcusburnton said:

“Is that the bell from the 1999 students that was originally just outside the hall??”

@Beempungose said:

“All the best young gentleman. The World awaits.”
