The coronavirus pandemic has changed the way most universities operate. The past two years saw students write online examination that were marred by allegations of irregularities.
The year 2022 saw students return to class and everything going back to normal. Currently universities are administering first semester examinations for undergraduates.
University of Venda in Limpopo has taken a tough stance against any examination irregularities. The university has listed all items that are not allowed in the examination.
Students are not allowed to bring cellphones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops and food in to the examination room. The university made it clear that those who may be found disobeying this rules will face consequences.
Students have been accused of circumventing University rules and this undermine qualifications issued by institutions. Protecting the integrity of the institution is important because all the current, future and past qualifications are tired to the university. Universities of Venda is on the right track.
