When a Yala Sub-county High School teacher was caught red-handed in bed with a Form Two student, he committed suicide.
According to reports in the media, the girl's class teacher, Calvin Kisianga Okello, hung himself with a rope after allegedly defiling her the day before.
The victim's parents told the police that the suspect beckoned and wanted to meet the victim after evening lessons, a few minutes before the start of the evening classes.
The victim went to visit her without hesitation as arranged, and the teacher told her that she wanted to speak with her alone.
She proposed meeting her outside the school's dormitories near the main entrance to the Dining Hall because she didn't have time due to her busy schedule.
The purported teacher discovered the girl standing near the main entrance to the Hall, drew her aside, and forced her to have an act in the school's dormitory bed repeatedly.
The girl's parents also claimed that their daughter told them that the suspect has been attempting to persuade her to establish a sexual relationship with him for months, but she has refused.
She, on the other hand, chose to come forward after the teacher knocked her out and transported her to the hospital.
“He wanted to touch my breasts, so I used my hand to defend myself, and he punched me,” she explained.
Following the incident, the teacher advised her not to tell her parents about it. She, on the other hand, revealed her problems after her mother saw she was in agony and had injuries to her arms as a result of the teacher's beatings.
“The teacher threatened to murder her, instilling terror in her and pushing her to remain quiet about her discomfort,” a family member told the newspaper.
